Introduction
Module A explores the professional nursing role as an educator. The Nurse Practice Act will be reviewed for licensure teaching expectations. Incorporating principles of teaching and learning to health care situations will be examined and research findings explored to promote patient education and health promotion.

Assignment
• Obtain a patient teaching brochure/handout commonly used where you work or seek health care.
• Analyze the brochure for readability, using one of the readability tests, and the Suitability Assessment of Materials (SAM) in Chapter 7 and appendix A of your textbook.
• Review Module A Grading Criteria below to prepare your assignment.

Provide an overview summary of brochure.
Fully describe its relevance to nursing/health care.
• Content exceeds stated minimum sentences requirement with relevant information pertinent to module objectives. (15pts)

2- Analysis of Readability: Results written as facts from your finding no personal thoughts (textbook & review of literature)
Using a readability test, analyze readability of brochure.
• Utilized more than the required number of peer –reviewed scholarly sources. Summary of results clearly stated in-depth.(15pts)

3- Analysis of Suitability: Results written as facts from your finding no personal thoughts (textbook & review of literature)
Using the Suitability Assessment of Materials tool, analyze the suitability of brochure.
• Utilized more than the required number of peer –reviewed scholarly sources. Summary of results clearly stated in-depth.(15pts)

4- Summary of Critical Analysis
Summarize your analysis of readability & suitability of the brochure.
Critically assess the relevance of the results for the intended learner in relation to evidence based findings from the textbook & your literature review.
Compare your textbook materiel and literature review to your results from above.
Summarize your findings in relation to the intended learner no personal thoughts.
