Myths about gender-based abuse

Discuss at least five “myths” about gender-based abuse and why they are not valid. (In supporting your positions, you need not refer by name or author the individual studies cited by Belknap, but you should cite the pages in Belknap in which she mentions the studies). How do these myths impede investigation, prosecution and conviction of gender-based crimes by the criminal justice system?

Different forms of sexual abuse, intimate-partner abuse and stalking are described by Belknap. Since this is a course in crime and criminology, distinguish between those that are crimes and those that are not. Give examples.
