Individualization of wealth and household decision making

Individualization of wealth and household decision making

Necdotal evidence reports an increase in the separation of assets among spouses in developed countries. This phenomenon seems to happen in a period in which female labour market participation has also increased. The purpose of this dissertation would be to empirically study the correlation of the evolution of asset property among spouses and female labour supply in UK. The student should then reconcile the findings with the existing theoretical literature on intra-household decision-making.
