The Rijksmuseum van Oudheden (!) (Dutch National Museum of Antiquities, Leiden) and the Museum of London Archaeological Archive (!) (London) will be targeted.
MAIN RESEARCH QUESTION:
How do both museums improve learning about past cultures for school-aged (6-13 years old!!!) children?
RELATED RESEARCH QUESTIONS:
1. How are the educational programs in both archaeological museums organized to reach out to the children?
2. What changes have both museums made to improvearchaeological education in the past?
3. Has there been any success in respectively Het Rijksmuseum van Oudheden and the Museum of London Archaeological Archivein disseminating knowledge about past cultures to children?
METHODS: A comparative literature study.
OUTCOMES:
(1) Understanding of both museum educational programs through time.
(2) Concrete suggestions for enhancements in their educational program
